Nathan's Broken Bone

Any parent's worst nightmare is seeing their child become hurt or injured. Yesterday Nathan was just that.

We have a swingset in our back yard with one of those monkey bar things you can hang from. Well, Nathan discovered a new trick.....running as fast as he can across the lawn to get a good start, jumping and grabbing on airborne so his legs swing over his head. Yeah Yeah you say...sounds risky....he's done it several times too!

He missed once yesterday though and that's all it took. He grabbed on tight and his hand slipped. His entire body weight (43.5 lb) came crashing down on his left arm. It was really scary.

He was a trooper though...cracking the nurses of the E.R up with his silly little jokes and stories..

Needless to say..he's doing well and thinks his cast is cool (he picked a lime green one..can't you tell he's my child!?) 6-8 weeks it will come off.

Here are a few pics. Lets see if you can find the break!

One Stop Resource for Planning a Hilton Head Island Wedding

The majority of weddings that take place on Hilton Head Island are destination weddings. Roughly 90% of the cakes I contract are with out of town couples planning their perfect destination wedding.

It can be difficult to plan from a distance with limited access to names, phone numbers and web sites of our area vendors.

The absolute BEST resource for our area is www.HiltonHeadWeddingPlanning.com

It is a complete one stop list to all of the areas vendors. Every vendor in every category is listed on this site complete with business name and phone numbers.

There are also sister sites- www.SavannahWeddingPlanning.com as well as www.BeaufortWeddingPlanning.com

I absolutely believe in this invaluable tool and recommend it to everyone I know! I hope in planning your destination Hilton Head wedding, you find this website helpful in the process!

This Weekends Weddings

A seemingly dreary Saturday morning that followed Friday's heavy downpour, ended with sunny skies and a nice breeze. I would like to take a minute to congratulate this weekend's newly weds.

Susan and Scott:

Susan and Scott are a couple who reside on the West Coast but love the LowCountry Charm our section of the East Coast has to offer. With a LowCountry themed wedding (down to the alligator favors and table decor) I couldn't imagine a more perfect place to be wed than the Moss Creek Club House. Nestled among old oak trees, draping Spanish Moss and the beautiful marshes that surround, this quaint club house boasts some of the most magnificent views.

I hope your LowCountry themed cake was all you hoped it'd be (right down to the fondant alligator bride and groom toppers, sugar magnolias, reed grasses, palm fronds and marsh birds.

Lori and Tom:

Lori and Tom were married on the 18th green of Hilton Head's Harbor Town Golf Course (famous for the views of the Harbor Town Light House). This location is stunning. The Champions Ballroom of the Sea Pines Resort is an amazing space for a wedding reception. This truly was a wedding that captured the essence of Hilton Head Island. Lori and Tom chose a 3 tiered white fondant covered wedding cake with edible sugar cherry blossoms, accompanied by a chocolate lover's grooms cake.

Congratulations Guys!

Now for the photos of these wonderful cakes!

****I would also like to add that the staff at both the Moss Creek Country Club as well as The Sea Pines resort are just top notch. I very much enjoy working with them and would highly recommend both venues to anyone looking for the perfect location for their Hilton Head Island wedding!
