All things vintage- what a weekend!

I had an AMAZING weekend! Perhaps that's because I had the opportunity to create cakes for some pretty AMAZING people!

2 of those amazing people are Brandy and Michael! I absolutely loved working with these two! Brandy has a very classic, clean and vintage-inspired wedding day style. From the ceremony which took place in Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA, to her reception at The Olde Pink House, she didn't overlook a single detail. Brandy wanted a cake that captured what she had envisioned her wedding to be. Beautiful- Grand- Soft- Feminine-Stylish- Possessing vintage flair. Together, Brandy and I came up with the perfect design/color combo for her big day!

Michael, Brandy's husband, wanted a grooms cake that would surely stand out at the reception, but not steal the show! These two LOVE to travel and have been many places together! In fact, they are back-packing through Europe as I write this blog! Michael wanted a grooms cake that captured the rustic feeling of a tattered old-world map. Think Indiana Jones meets Harry Potter. His grooms cake was a square shaped cake made to resemble a mahogany box with a solid sugar map on top of the box. I sure hope he loved it as much as I loved creating it!

Lastly, Rebecca celebrated her 40th Birthday this past Saturday with a birthday bash at the Fred Astaire Dance Studio located inside the Seaquins Ballroom. This cake is fit for a ballroom dancing queen!

Birthday Season!

This time of year is a great one! In addition to it being the official start of the 2011 wedding season, it is also the season of birthdays! I love creating birthday cakes, as it is not the majority of what I do. I'm usually creating many beautiful wedding cakes weekly, so being able to step out-of-the-box a little and into more whimsical and fun designs is always a treat!

Here are the latest cakes!

Baby Barron turned 1 and celebrated with this Baby Elmo themed cake!

I have had the opportunity to create a birthday cake for my client Heather's son Nathaniel every year since he's been born! This year was a train themed birthday cake!

My gorgeous cousin Kylie celebrated her 10th birthday with this whimsical 3 tier cake!

Russell's friends wanted a Marlin that was as large as Russell's personality! Happy 40th Russell!

My cousin Scott turned 19! He celebrated with a skateboard made of cake!

My cousin Jack turned 21! What better than a HUGE beer mug?!

Jack wanted a sip, but instead got a face full of yummy butter cream!

Groom's cake for our wonderful Mike Guzman! He is a technician with Superior Heating and Air. This is an American Standard Heat Pump- in his honor.

Kerry and Mike were married this past weekend. Their cake was as beautiful as the two of them are together!
Iron Man War Machine birthday cake for Owen, who turned 4!

Star Wars Ahsoka Tano themed birthday cake for Owen's sister Ella, who turned 9.
