I've forgotten what the insides of my eyelids look like..........

I've forgotten what the insides of my eyelids look like..........

Sleep doesn't come easy in September...okay it doesn't come at all! But who would want to sleep when there are so many beautiful wedding cakes to be created?!

Sorry to have left you hanging in the blog-o-sphere for so long. Where were we? Oh, yes that's right- in August! Forgive me friends!

The last two weeks have been jam-packed with wedding cake production. I've been busy playing cake wizard behind closed doors and an appointment schedule of unavailability. If you're new to my blog or you haven't yet secured your wedding cake with Sheri's Edible Designs, it's safe to say this is a crazy time of year and I have been known to clear the calendar of all things consultation. I do this to be able focus my energy to the cakes and clients who've ordered them- after all, it is someone's wedding cake we're talking about here. Not to worry though, the same courtesy I extend to my current clients is the same courtesy I will extend to you on your wedding day. I let nothing come in the way of my production schedule and I'm sure that is preferred.

So what have I been so busy creating? Behold the unveiling of............

Summer Time Fun

I love the summer wedding season! The cakes in the summer season tend to have neither theme nor distinct style. In the world of cake design, anything goes during the dead of summer!

You may notice spring time is full of light pinks and greens, fresh or sugar flowers and simple colored trim. Fall cakes bear fruit, dark colors, patterns and textures. Seasons definitely have a general color scheme, too. Dark, deep hues for the fall and light jewel-toned pastels for the spring.

In the summer we see beach theme, formal with monograms, sand castles (yes...castles), tall grande allure, and most of all the use of a wide array of colors from every end of the spectrum!

With that in mind, please enjoy some of the highlights of the summer - in cake!

A special thanks to the talented Scott Hopkins Photography and also to Landon Jacob Productions for the awesome professional images you see above!

Looking to trim, slim and tone for your big day? Go LoCo!!

It's just like recess used to be; breathless, invigorating, and fun!

That is the mantra of LoCo Boot Camp.
LoCo is a total body conditioning program that includes cutting edge fitness instruction, nutritional education, and team motivation, along with access to a variety of premier wellness services. Unlike other programs that take a military or individual approach to boot camp, LoCo’s team-oriented conditioning style is designed to encourage and support you while you experience the pure enjoyment of feeling your body in motion.

LoCo Boot Camp hosts a series of 4 week long camps, with the most recent running July 12-August 6.

LoCo Boot Camp owner, Laura Morgan, reached out to area wedding professionals inviting us to attend this camp to help promote the 'Bridal Buddies' Boot Camp. Take a look at the link HERE.

I have to say, the idea of getting up early to start at 5:45 am didn't sit well with me at first, but one swift look down at that 'baby belly' of mine still lurking 7 months post-partum, I couldn't sign up fast enough! My job is demanding, and every one knows I work some long hours. I love the flexibility of the different schedules with LoCo Boot Camp. I feel better knowing my workout is done for the day before the rest of my family wakes up. Not an early riser? LoCo has 3 camps daily! Check out the schedule HERE.

Today marked the beginning of week 2 and I can say first hand, this work out will kick your butt! You feel it all, and the best news is.....it's working! I'm already down 2 dress sizes! I cannot wait to see the final results at the end of camp!

If you're looking for a great way to effectively firm up, drop pounds and inches, and increase your energy level - do not pass on this opportunity!

LoCo offers the community an opportunity to attend a day of camp for free before making the commitment. Contant Laura Morgan at 843-540-3064 or email her at Laura@LoCoBootCamp.com.

Go Loco!

I'm back...and I'm bringing many celebrations with me!

So....yes, I've been absent from the blogosphere as of late. I know the same time every year I give the skinny on how life is a busy jumble of things, how I've been working day and night and night and day to create artful pieces of confectionery perfection. That rings true for this year, too. I would love to give a warm story for each couple who was married in the last month, as I forged relationships with each and every one of them. Unfortunately, I am sitting on my office floor...(because my back has become tolerant only to blogging from the floor) my finger tips aching from returning the email influx, and my eyes bloodshot from sleeping only a wink in the last month

Complaining? I think not! Tired and humbled by the spring wedding season? Very much so.

To type the details for each couple would take days to complete. I can say...the clients, the weddings, the cakes, the details of their planning process....all of it is very deserving of acknowledgment. Frankly, there have been so many weddings in the last 4 weeks- I have to resort to posting only photos of these lovely cakes. I am honored to have been part of all the weddings I have created cakes for in May and June.

And now...the cakes-

A very special thank you to Scott Hopkins Photographer and Belle Rouge Studio for a few of the photos in this blog post!
